Microsoft Copilot Keys Will Soon Be Reprogrammable to Other Functions

In 2024, when Microsoft began introducing the Copilot AI service update to the Windows 11 operating system, one of the changes introduced to laptop manufacturers was to introduce a special CoPilot key on the keyboard.

Most laptop manufacturers have changed the context menu key or Ctrl to the Copilot key that will quickly activate the feature. Recently, Microsoft announced that in an upcoming Windows 11 update, users will be able to reprogram the key to activate other functions.

Later, users can go to the Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Keyboard menu to modify the key settings to other functions such as Ctrl, Shift and other functions that will be shown later.

The use of Copilot does not seem to be very popular even though the function is built in by default, with the development of the function on the Xbox platform having been discontinued because it does not provide any benefit to users.

Microsoft has not yet said when this update will arrive, but since the announcement has been made, the expectation is that it will arrive during one of the major updates to the Windows 11 operating system soon.
