After a long time, leading German audio brand Sennheiser has introduced their latest wireless headphone model, the Sennheiser Momentum 5 Wireless, which features new features and support for more audio quality that can now be played.
The Sennheiser Momentum 5 Wireless is seen to maintain the design of the previous Momentum 4 Wireless headphone model, and also the use of 42mm transducer audio drivers that were shown in the previous model and also the Sennheiser HD600 headphones launched in 1997.
The more noticeable difference is in the audio type support on the Momentum 5 Wireless headphones. According to Senheisser, these headphones come with Hi-Res Audio and Snapdragon Sound ratings, along with support for the aptX Lossless audio codec which allows users to play audio at lossless quality regardless of the audio source.
The Smart Control Plus application now also comes with an eight-band EQ function and a number of audio quality presets that can also be modified to get audio quality that suits the user's taste. The headphones also come with eight built-in microphones, four on each side of the left and right sides to not only improve the quality of voice calls with these headphones, but also to improve the quality of active noise cancellation.
When these headphones are launched, Sennheiser will also come with a day one update that will introduce the Dolby Atmos feature that will allow the headphones to track the position of the head and ears when watching content that supports the technology. In the meantime, these headphones also support Bluetooth 5.4 audio technology at launch, and will be upgraded to Bluetooth 6.0 in a future software update.
These headphones also come with a built-in 700mAH battery that gives users a continuous usage life of 57 hours, while the built-in fast charging system will give users three hours of usage time with five minutes of charging.
The global launch of the Sennheiser Momentum 5 Wireless will arrive on June 16, 2026 and will be sold for $600 (~RM2400). These headphones have already started being promoted on the Sennheiser Malaysia website, but the launch date will only be announced later.
