After several years holding the first place as the most popular electric car model in Malaysia, today the BYD Atto 3 2026 is introduced for the Malaysian market. Distributed by BYD Sime Motors, interestingly, the BYD Atto 3 2026 introduced in Malaysia is the first market for the Asia Pacific region.
There are two versions offered for the Malaysian market, namely the Ultra and Premium versions. The Ultra version has a 60.48 kWh BYD Blade battery that provides a travel range of 480km. The DC fast charging function is as high as 110 kW. and AC 7kW. It has front-wheel drive with a 150 kW electric motor, allowing acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.
The Premium version brings the highest specification with a larger battery of 74.88 kWh that provides a range of up to 600km NEDC and supports DC fast charging of up to 220 kW and AC 11kW. With a rear-wheel drive electric motor that provides power of 230kW, it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. Since it has rear-wheel drive, there is a front boot storage space (frunk) with a capacity of 101L.
In addition, its exterior design has been updated with a new front and rear design, while the interior has a dual-tone interior, seats with posture support, a gear lever on the steering wheel, a 50W wireless charger and more, including a larger instrument display, now 8.8-inches in size. It also supports the V2L function of 3.3kW.
The BYD Atto 3 comes with a 6-year or 150,000km warranty, an 8-year or 160,000km battery warranty, and an 8-year or 160,000km electric drivetrain warranty.
The BYD Atto 3 Ultra will be sold at RM125,800 while the BYD Atto 3 Premium will be sold at RM138,800. A purchase promotion is being offered for the first 500 buyers, who will receive an Overtrade discount worth RM10,000 and can choose either a wall charger or a 6-year maintenance package.
With the arrival of the BYD Atto 3 2026, it provides an opportunity for original buyers to upgrade their existing BYD, and will also attract potential new EV users since the price is quite attractive when compared to the travel distance and functions it offers.
