Spotify Wants to Offer Exclusive Concert Streaming as Well

Music, podcasts, videos, audiobooks and recently leading magazine articles in audio form are offered by Spotify to dominate the world of paid streaming. So far, their tactic has been successful with Spotify still holding the status of the world's number one music streaming service. According to Bloomberg, the next step is to offer exclusive concert streaming to customers.

Many fans want to see their favorite artists in concert live but often can't afford to buy tickets. Bloomberg reports that Spotify is in talks with several record labels for exclusive rights to stream live concerts on their platform.

So far, they have experimented with this offering through Dua Lipa's concert in Mexico City. This move is part of a strategy to make video a key component to increase users and generate higher advertising revenue.

YouTube already holds the streaming rights to Coachella while Prime Video has it with Stagecoach and Glastonbury with the BBC. At the same time, Spotify wants to reward the most hardcore fans who stream their favorite artists with access to early or exclusive tickets in the future.
