BYD has now shared that it will officially introduce its first humanoid robot this August, which is just a few weeks away.
BYD is already well-known for its electric vehicle offerings. However, they have previously expressed their desire to develop robots several times, and have also made high investments in the arena of artificial intelligence and robotics. With the participation and introduction of this first robot, it will simultaneously position BYD ahead of Tesla, which has not yet marketed its robots.
In addition to BYD and Tesla, several other vehicle manufacturers are also seen focusing on investments involving robotics. Among them are Xpeng and Xiaomi – each of which has shown their humanoid robot concepts.
In China alone, the robotics arena is seen moving rapidly, and several robots have begun to be offered commercially in the market there. Rapid development has also led to progress in the development of their respective robots, while at the same time making their production costs low.
