Insta360 is not the pioneer of 360-degree cameras but they may be responsible for popularizing them because their cameras are offered at a more affordable price. Last weekend, the Insta360 X6 camera design was leaked via the WinFuture site showing a smaller size compared to the Insta360 X5.
It still comes with two fisheye lenses on the front and back to offer 360-degree recording. Most notably, its size is smaller than the previous longer model. In terms of size, it now has a design more similar to a regular action camera.
In the same report, the Insta360 X6 is said to be able to record 8K 50FPS 360 degrees which is an increase from only 80K 30FPS 360 degrees on the X5. With DJI banned in the United States and GoPro likely to change course, Insta360 is using this opportunity to offer a camera in a market that they will soon dominate.
