The Adobe Premiere video editing app is now finally available for Android devices, nearly a year after its launch on the iPhone. It is free to download and use, allowing users to perform basic edits, incorporate AI-generated elements, add special effects, and access Adobe's library of assets.
Videos can be exported in 4K resolution and edited for high-quality audio; the app supports multi-layer editing—similar to the desktop version—and templates, with no Adobe watermark applied to the final output. As a smartphone app, it includes features for exporting content directly to TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.
Adobe plans to introduce future updates for the Android version, including cross-device editing (continuing a project from phone to desktop), Adobe Fonts integration, improved caption generation, and more.
Although currently free, certain premium features—such as specific special effects and credits for AI generation—require in-app purchases. This move by Adobe is seen as an effort to compete with CapCut, a popular choice among smartphone content creators.
Adobe Premiere for Android is available for download today via the Play Store for devices running Android 13 or later with at least 5GB of RAM.
