The latest Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar smartwatch has been unveiled, featuring a rugged design built for extreme activities. It introduces the world's first Dual-Sided Solar Charging technology for an AMOLED smartwatch.
This allows the watch to harvest solar energy from two sources: the front AMOLED screen and the ceramic glass back panel. With this capability, wearing the watch in direct sunlight for three hours daily can extend battery life to 34 days. Meanwhile, exposing the larger rear solar panel to sunlight for three hours a day can extend usage up to 51 days.
Constructed with a Grade 5 titanium bezel and a Sapphire Crystal screen, the watch holds military-grade certification, enabling it to withstand extreme temperatures as low as -30°C. It also offers various features to facilitate outdoor activities, including standalone navigation via built-in color maps—eliminating the need for a phone. Routes can be planned directly on the watch, featuring turn-by-turn directions and an Auto-Rerouting function.
The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters and includes automatic dive detection. It supports over 180 sports modes and integrates with platforms like Strava and TrainingPeaks, as well as external devices such as heart rate sensors and specialized running trackers. Additionally, it includes survival features like a built-in flashlight (with white and red modes), an SOS signal, a barometer with storm alerts, and emergency warnings.
The Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar is available in Basalt Black with a silicone strap, priced at $650 (~RM2,652). There is currently no information regarding its availability in Malaysia.
