A new telecommunications entity has been established: BeONE Mobile, a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO). It provides prepaid network services to a wide range of consumers and businesses, with a specific focus on local community development.
As an MVNO, BeONE Mobile operates on the Maxis 5G network. Currently, the service offers only prepaid plans. These include Mobile Number Portability (MNP) plans starting at RM25—allowing users to transfer their existing numbers to BeONE Mobile—which come with data quotas ranging from 150GB to 550GB per month, data speeds of 1000Gb/s, and free calls to all networks.
For new numbers, BeONE Mobile offers prepaid plans starting at RM30 for 150GB of data, up to RM48 per month for 550GB. All plans allow users to share their internet data with computers without specific limitations. The RM48 plan also includes a 50GB roaming data quota for use in Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia.
BeONE Mobile distinguishes itself through its sales agent model. SIM cards are sold via agents on platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop, meaning agents do not require a physical storefront to sell the cards.
Furthermore, these sales agents also serve as customer service representatives, assisting customers with number porting, registration, and other service-related matters. BeONE will train its agents to ensure they are thoroughly familiar with the processes required to become knowledgeable about the intricacies of offering these telecommunications services to both prospective and existing customers.
Meanwhile, BeONE Mobile is also introducing two new programs to expand its agent network. This includes the BeONE Entrepreneurship Program for the ride-hailing community, which allows ride-hailing drivers to become BeONE Mobile agents and generate additional income.
The Community SIM initiative will launch in the Lembah Pantai area, enabling residents to obtain BeONE community SIM cards and access the network for various digital and online activities. This initiative will be expanded to other areas in the future.
