The Huawei Mate 90 series was launched this morning, with the Mate 90 Pro Max and Mate 90 RS supporting an add-on lens kit. The lens system offered by Huawei is the largest of its kind compared to previous releases from Oppo, Honor, and Xiaomi.
The Huawei Ruiying Z10 kit features a 50MP sensor with a physical size of 1 inch. The optical zoom system supports up to 10x optical zoom, covering a range of 24mm to 240mm. The lens aperture ranges from f/2.0 to f/4.5, and the Z10’s telescopic zoom mechanism utilizes an electric motor.
The unit features a programmable rotating ring that can control zoom, aperture, or manual focus. Its OIS system meets the CIPA 7.0 standard. The kit supports 50MP still photography and video recording up to 4K at 60fps, with image formats including JPEG, HEIF, and DNG.
The lens body is constructed from aluminum alloy and weighs 346g. It attaches directly to the camera module on the back of the Mate 90 Pro Max and Mate 90 RS. In China, the Huawei Ruiying Z10 kit is priced at RMB 5,999 (~RM 3,653) and includes the lens, lens cap, phone case, strap, tripod mount, lens hood, grip, charging cable, charger, and a storage bag.
