Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has disclosed that a global investor has informed him of plans to invest up to $50 billion (RM204 billion) in Malaysia, with a focus on the development of data centers, artificial intelligence (AI), and other emerging technologies.
While the identity of the investor has not yet been revealed, the investment is expected to span both Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia.
This investment is anticipated to be one of the largest in the technology sector this year. In conjunction with this, the Prime Minister emphasized that training and talent development are crucial for enabling Malaysia to continue advancing in the technology sector.
