A few weeks ago at the UN, President Donald Trump stated that he would begin using the term "Super Intelligence"—or "SI"—instead of "AI" to refer to artificial intelligence. Today, he issued an executive order mandating the use of the term SI in all official government documents.
The term SI is being adopted because, according to the White House, it more accurately reflects the promise, potential, and rapidly evolving capabilities of these technologies. Furthermore, the US government will no longer recognize the use of the terms "artificial intelligence" or "AI" in any relevant context moving forward.
The use of the term SI is mandatory for all official correspondence, public communications, websites, reports, policy documents, and other non-statutory documents within the executive branch.
