4 Steps to Safety Your Mobile Phone, Do It Now!

Everyone wants their cell phone to stay safe and private. Naturally, because today’s mobile phones store a variety of important data in them.
While the security provided by the Android or iOS operating system has provided additional security for the device, users should also take care of the security of their own devices. Here are the steps to secure your mobile phone that you can use immediately:

How to protect your mobile phone:

1. Make sure the lock screen is secure

The phone lock screen is the first barrier against unwanted access. Have you used PIN codes or biometric features, such as fingerprints and face scans? Let's use it. Make sure you don’t use standard and predictable pins.

Also, immediately set the screen to turn off quickly, for example, 10 or 15 seconds. This avoids negligence when you forget to lock the screen again after use.

2. Avoid spyware

When you accidentally click on a link or attachment in an email that turns out to be malicious, you should be aware of spyware. If you’re an Android user, you can check for insertion apps by: Settings> Apps and notifications> View all apps. For iOS users, the steps to take are: Apps and notifications> Advanced> Access special apps.

If you think your phone might have been compromised, make sure you back up all data first, then perform a complete reset. This attempt should be able to remove the application, block unauthorized access, and put you completely back in control.

3. Watch what you share

Apple and Google make it easy to share locations, photos, and calendars with others. Well, there is a gap where you inadvertently let your cell phone share data with others.

If you're using an iPhone, go to the People tab in Find My Apps to see who can see and revoke location access permissions at any time. You can also audit shared photo albums from Shared Albums and shared calendars. If you're in a family sharing group that you don't want anymore, go to Settings, tap the name, and select Leave Family.

The Google Family works in a similar way to the Apple Family Partnership. If you want to leave the family group, open the Play Store app on Android. Then tap the menu button (top left)> Accounts> Family> View family members. By touching the three dots (top right), you will get the option Leave family group.

4. Protect your account

In the digital age, a lot of data is stored in the cloud. So keep these two simple but important things in mind: don’t use passwords that are too easy to guess and do two -step verification.

You also need to know where the accounts are connected. On Android you can go to Settings> Google> Manage your Google account> Security. On iPhone, open Settings and tap the name at the top to see the devices connected to the account. You can tap one of them, then select Remove from account to revoke access to your Apple account.
