1. Do not share important information on WhatsApp

The Facebook -owned giant has launched its new privacy policy that allows the company to access more details than ever before. While companies make sure they don’t read users ’messages, it’s best to avoid sharing confidential information on WhatsApp.



2. Enable 2 -step verification

Inevitably, there are a number of WhatsApp users who complain about the hacked experience. To avoid this, users can activate 2 -step verification in WhatsApp. By using this feature, users will not only be asked to fill out an OTP when setting up their WhatsApp account on a new smartphone, but they will also be asked to enter a six -digit pin.



How to activate it in the following way. Enter WhatsApp Settings> Accounts> Two Step Verification.



3. Use the default WhatsApp application key

WhatsApp users can increase the security of the application by enabling the application lock feature. To do that, users just need to head to WhatsApp Settings> Accounts> Privacy> Screen Lock.



4. Enable WhatsApp Web lock

WhatsApp recently launched an update that allows users to lock the WhatsApp Web on a PC. If this is enabled, users will be asked to authenticate themselves with Biometric authentication to set up WhatsApp Web on a new laptop or PC.



5. Check the privacy settings

Lastly, WhatsApp users are advised to check their privacy settings. Using the 'Privacy' settings page, users can choose who can see their profile picture, status and last seen.
