How to Exchange Public Money at ATM Machines Only. Easy & Fast!

With Hari Raya Aidilfitri arriving in two weeks, several banks are now providing new money for customers who need it for duit raya purposes. If you are one of those who need a fresh note to celebrate this occasion, you can go ahead and visit the following banks:

Bank Affin

Between today and May 14, 2021, Affin Bank and Affin Islamic Bank customers can get fresh banknotes for their duit raya at 56 ATMs, located at selected locations across the country. The notes are issued in denominations of RM10 and RM50, and the daily withdrawal limit is set at RM5,000. However, this limit is also subject to your card withdrawal limit and the availability of notes at ATMs. Here is a complete list of Affin Bank ATMs that offer this service.

AmBank

AmBank customers will also be able to get RM10 banknotes for the upcoming Hari Raya celebration at selected branch ATMs nationwide. The bank does not share if there is a withdrawal limit (per day or per withdrawal), but the possibility is determined by the withdrawal limit of your card and the availability of notes on the machine. You can find a complete list of ATM locations here.

CIMB

CIMB issues new RM10 and RM50 banknotes at 50 selected branches nationwide, and customers can obtain them through bank ATMs. This service is available from today until 12 May 2021.

Note that the bank has set a limit on the amount you can take per withdrawal. If you want to withdraw a new RM10 banknote, you are allowed to withdraw a maximum of RM300 per withdrawal. Meanwhile, those who choose the RM50 denomination will have a maximum withdrawal limit of RM1,500 per withdrawal - although this only applies to ATMs at Menara CIMB KL Sentral.

Also, no daily withdrawal limit is mentioned, but you may be limited by your card withdrawal limit, and the availability of notes. You can find the location of the ATM that provides this service here.

Maybank

Maybank customers will be able to withdraw RM10, RM20, and RM50 banknotes at selected Maybank ATMs between today and 13 May 2021. Similar to AmBank, Maybank also does not specify a maximum withdrawal limit (per day or per withdrawal), but you can expect to be limited by limit your card issuance and the availability of notes on the machine as well.

Banks also state that some ATMs only issue certain denominations, so check ATM locations and available denominations before you go out to withdraw your money. For example, certain ATMs at major Maybank branches in Kuala Lumpur only issue RM10 or RM50 banknotes. Here is a complete list of ATMs that provide this service.

Before going to bank branches and ATMs to make your withdrawal, be sure to check the operating hours for each bank as they may change them to comply with the latest standard operating procedures (SOPs) of movement control orders (MCOs) implemented by the government.

You can also consider sending e-duit raya to your family members and friends via online or mobile banking. A large number of banks actively support the use of this digital method for security and convenience. In the end, giving Raya money is a way for you to spread joy and happiness this festive season, no matter whether you do it with a physical green packet or through online!
