Apple Makes it Easy to Wipe Stolen iPhone Data

Recently reported cases of iPhone theft in Brazil. The stolen iPhone is not for resale but to access the banking application on the phone and steal money from the iPhone owner.
Now Apple has a new tool that allows users to lock and wipe data on the device remotely.

But according to a report from Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, Apple and Google have told the country's consumer protection regulator that they will make it easier to access their services and delete stolen smartphone data.

Neither company said what they would do to make it "easier". Nowadays, it's actually not difficult to access Apple's Find Me network and report devices labeled as lost or stolen and lock and wipe them remotely. All a user needs is access to a computer.

Maybe Apple could consider setting up some hotline so users can at least report the incident and have someone at Apple wipe their device remotely.
