Online conference calling service Zoom recently announced their plans to acquire a company called Karlsruhe Information Technology Solutions, also known as Kites.
Kites is a company specializing in real-time translation that relies on machine learning. This means that there is a high chance with the acquisition that Zoom will also have the feature in the future.
"We're constantly looking for new ways to bring happiness to our users and improve meeting productivity, and MT solutions will be key in enhancing our platform for Zoom customers around the world." said Velchamy Sankarlingam, President of Product and Engineering at Zoom.
It is not clear when this translation feature will be released on the Zoom service. However, this will definitely be a feature that many users look forward to in the future.
It is known that Microsoft's Skype video calling service already has a real-time translation feature.
