Bill Gates along with tycoon George Soros, acquired a company involved in the Corona test, where the test could be run in a short amount of time. How much money is spent?
The buyer is a consortium owned by Soros, the Soros Economic Development Fund (SEDF) with the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and several other philanthropic investors. The attached company is UK -based Mologic.
Mologic developed testing tools to help fight diseases, especially those originating from the tropics such as dengue fever and the COVID-19 Corona virus. The purchase value of Mologic is USD 41 million.
The purpose of purchasing Mologic is to provide more affordable access to health devices around the world. Bill Gates himself has played a lot in dealing with health problems, including the Corona outbreak.
“Tests or diagnoses are very important to public health, so doctors and medical professionals can provide treatment as early as possible,” said Roxana Binnell, a public health expert with the Open Society Foundations.
“As we have seen during the CVID-19 pandemic, access to testing tools is very important to control the spread of this infectious disease that ultimately affects us all,” he added.
After his divorce from Melinda and being plagued by various unpleasant problems such as an affair with a Microsoft employee, Bill Gates has lately seemed to have reduced his public speaking, including discussing the Corona virus. Still, with the news of this acquisition, it is certain that he is still actively involved and wants to play a role.
