Thursday 15 July 2021 tomorrow, the sun is right above the Temple. Muslims can straighten the direction of Qibla. This is a simple, straightforward and accurate method.
The sun passes through the Temple twice a year on May 27 and July 15. This moment is called Qibla Day or Istiwa'ul Azham aka Great Culmination of Mecca or Global Rashdul Qibla.
This is the moment when all Muslims in the world can straighten the Qibla together. Why is that?
Because the axis of Earth’s rotation is tilted 66.6º with respect to the Earth’s orbit, there is an annual pseudo motion of the Sun. Meanwhile, the sun has often been a benchmark for Muslims in the world to find the Qibla. Asians look to the West, Germans look to the south and so on.
When the Sun is above the Temple, then all the shadows on Earth will point directly to the Temple. This is the right time to straighten the Qibla direction.
A simple and easy method to do it. Let's try!
How to straighten the direction of Qibla:
Find and determine the place where the Qibla direction will be tested. Find a flat and airy location, and of course exposed to sunlight. You can choose a garden, sports field, ceremonial field or open courtyard.
Watch the schedule of the Sun's peak above the Kaaba, tomorrow, which is Thursday, July 15, 2021, at 09.26 Saudi Arabian time
Take advantage of straight posts. Can be basketball poles, flag poles, drying poles, badminton or volleyball poles, fence poles etc. If you don’t have it, prepare a straight stick or rope with a pendulum. Put it upright.
At the peak of the allotted time, notice the shadows on the poles. The direction of Qibla is the line from the end of the shadow to the base of the pillar stuck in the ground.
Good luck!
