Co -Founder: Wikipedia Now Unreliable

A shocking statement from the mouth of Wikipedia co -founder, Larry Sanger. He says that Wikipedia is now unreliable.
This statement was made in an interview with Sanger on the TV program Lockdown UnHerd on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, yesterday. As reported by News.com Australia, as seen on Wednesday (21/7/2021), Sanger said he created Wikipedia in 2001 in a spirit of neutrality.

But now according to Sanger, Wikipedia has become a kind of propaganda site. For American political issues, Wikipedia blocks conservative and more left -leaning views.

"You can't cite Fox News for socio-political issues, that would be banned. If it wasn't in the left-center mainstream media, it wouldn't be on Wikipedia," Sanger said.

Sanger says that Wikipedia now contains fixed points of view, rather than multiple points of view. There are political forces trying to make Wikipedia a version of the truth.

"And they do. It's a complicated, big, evil game behind the scenes to make articles say what they want to say," he said.

PR companies also specifically help their clients define content on Wikipedia. Sanger gives two examples, namely regarding US President Joe Biden and COVID-19.

As for Joe Biden, he says that all the content is positive and there is no critical point of view from the Republican Party. The political scandal related to Biden is also short -lived, though the case is large.

For COVID-19 in America, Wikipedia only includes the opinions of government versions such as Dr. Anthony Fauci. The opinion of a Nobel laureate or a doctor disappears just like that.

“Not only are they unwanted on Wikipedia, they are also censored on YouTube and sometimes Facebook and Twitter because their narratives are contradictory,” he laments.

In the interview, Larry Sanger admitted that he was a right -wing or Libertarian Conservative. He did not explain whether the bias in Wikipedia was based solely on the American context or all issues from around the world. On Sanger's various criticisms of Wikipedia, Wikipedia has not yet commented.
