Twitter Fleets Officially Stopped, Netizens Crowd Say Goodbye

Twitter has officially turned off the Fleets feature since August 3, 2021 yesterday. Netizens who feel lost are also busy saying goodbye to a feature similar to Instagram Stories on the Twitter timeline.
Twitter had previously announced that it would remove the Fleets feature last month. Although Fleet is less than a year old on Twitter, this feature has been removed because it is rarely used by users.

Currently, the keyword Fleets is included in the list of trending topics for Twitter. On Wednesday (4/8/2021) afternoon, there were more than 290,000 netizen tweets talking about Fleets on Twitter.

Netizens ’responses to the loss of Fleets have been mixed. A large number were surprised that they no longer saw the Fleets column at the top of the Twitter app, but some also thought the Fleets column was missing due to an error.

Some are also saddened to no longer be able to use Fleets to upload content and how it feels. Twitter users also remember this feature by uploading their last Fleets on the Twitter timeline.

I have only used Fleets three times since the feature was released and once the feature no longer existed, I felt like something was missing from my twitter

But loyal Fleets users don’t have to worry, as some of the capabilities of this feature will remain. In its announcement, Twitter said it will test parts of the Fleets, such as the full -screen camera, text format options, and GIF stickers, for tweet composers and cameras.

“We’ll be looking for more ways to address what’s stopping people from participating on Twitter, and for those who are already tweeting, we’re focused on making it better for you,” Twitter said when announcing the discontinuation of the Fleets feature.
