Zoom Service Has Fallen in Various Countries

Video conferencing application service Zoom crashes in various countries. Its users are complaining on social media.

As monitored by us from Downdetector, this problem occurred on Monday (23/8/2021) starting at around 14.00  and getting worse at 15.00 . Half of users can't join meetings, the rest complain about video quality and server connection problems.

However, this problem seems to have little impact in Indonesia because the busy working hours and school hours have passed. But for those who live or work in Europe, this is a disaster.

The Sun UK, for example, reported that this incident paralyzed work from home and online learning activities in the UK. The downfall of the Zoom service occurred during the morning rush hour in the UK.

The Sun reported that the Zoom service was down at 8 a.m. UK time, the rush hour for school and work. Some users have complained about not being able to attend office meetings. Students complain about not being able to take classes and lectures online.

Monitored on the Downdetector map, this down condition was experienced, among others, in England, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Pakistan, Japan, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Australia. Meanwhile the Americas seemed completely safe.

As a result of this incident, many users submitted their complaints on Twitter. They are scattered in several countries.

"Here I cannot start a meeting session with waiting rooms. Those without waiting rooms are not disturbed," said @smotria from Trier, Germany.

"It's the same problem here," said Usman Mahmood from Lahore, Pakistan.

Zoom has made an announcement on Twitter. They acknowledged there was a problem and had a fix in about 1 hour.
