Elon Musk says he is 'half separated' from his girlfriend, Claire 'Grimes' Boucher after dating for three years and having children. This was revealed directly by Musk in an interview with the tabloid Page Six.
Musk said he and Grimes would stay together with their son, X A-Xii (pronounced: Xasha Twelve), who is now one year old. But because they have to work in different states, the two are often separated and are now taking different steps.
"We're half separated but still love each other, see each other often, and get on well," Musk told Page Six, as quoted by The Verge, Saturday (24/9/2021).
"Most of my work at SpaceX and Tesla required me to be in Texas or traveling overseas, and his job was mostly in LA. He lives with me now, and Baby X is in the next room."
Musk and Grimes first started a relationship in 2018 after they were both attracted to a thought experiment called Roko's Basilisk that was popular in the tech world.
When Musk and Grimes started dating, many people were shocked because the two of them looked so different even though they were both eccentric. Musk is known as a technology entrepreneur, while Grimes is a musician known for his pop-art music genre.
This power couple first debuted on the red carpet at the 2018 Met Gala. In May 2020, Musk and Grimes were blessed with a son named X A-Xii, which makes many people confused about how to pronounce it.
The two have also worked together in front of the screen when Musk was a presenter on the television show Saturday Night Live in May. In one of the SNL sketches, Musk plays Mario while his girlfriend appears as Princess Peach.
Prior to dating Grimes, Musk was in a relationship with several women. In 2000, he married his first wife, Justine Wilson, and they have five sons.
After divorcing Wilson in 2008, Musk began dating actress Talulah Riley and married her in 2010. He then divorced Riley in 2012, remarried in 2013, and divorced a second time in 2014.
In 2017, Musk dated actress Amber Heard for several months. Musk was accused of having an affair with Heard when she was still the wife of actor Johnny Depp.
