To secure the cellphone, install a fingerprint lock. You can also install a fingerprint lock or fingerprint on WhatsApp. But, do you know how?
As an added privacy measure, users can request a fingerprint lock when opening WhatsApp on their mobile. Launching the FAQ on the official WhatsApp website, when this additional privacy is enabled, users must use a fingerprint to access the app.
How to Use Fingerprint Lock on WA
Open WhatsApp > tap More options > Settings > Account > Privacy.
Scroll down and tap Fingerprint lock.
Enable Unlock with fingerprint
Touch the fingerprint sensor to confirm your fingerprint
You can tap to select the length of time before fingerprint authentication is requested
Turn on Show content in notifications if you want to see text messages in new message notifications.
But feel uncomfortable installing fingerprints on WA. Relax, you can disable fingerprint lock, really. The method is as follows:
Open WhatsApp > tap More options > Settings > Account > Privacy
Scroll down and tap Fingerprint lock.
Turn off Fingerprint unlock.
For the record, WA fingerprint lock is only available on Android devices with a fingerprint sensor running Android 6.0+ which supports Google's fingerprint API. You can also answer calls even if the app is locked.
