Moving backup conversations on WhatsApp from iOS to Android previously couldn't be done. But now this can be done on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3.
There are several conditions that must be met in order to do this. Like using the most recent version of the WhatsApp application (on both devices), also installing the Smart Switch application on the target Samsung phone.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 with a Smart Switch application that allows users to conveniently transfer data from their old smartphone-including WhatsApp data-be it from Android, iOS, or Windows devices.

Here are the conditions that must be met to move backup conversations from iOS to Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3.
Samsung Smart Switch app version 3.7.22.1 or higher on your new device.
WhatsApp iOS version 2.21.160.17 or higher on your old device.
USB-C to Lightning cable (or equivalent adapter).
Using the same phone number as used on the old device.
Your new Android device must be factory new or factory reset.
Smart Switch also allows users to transfer other important data such as contacts, notes, photos, videos, to bookmarks in the browser application when switching smartphones from iOS, Windows, or fellow Android-based devices to the Samsung Galaxy.
