China already operates its own space station in Earth orbit, known as Tiangong. The interior of this new space station has successfully amazed and made the International Space Station (ISS) feel old school.
The Chinese astronauts' first mission to the station has been completed and they returned to Earth last September. Well recently, China launched another three astronauts to Tiangong on the Shenzhou 13 mission.
The three astronauts, Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping, and Ye Guangfu, will conduct research until the spacewalk in the void of outer space. But what attracted the most attention was the appearance of the inside of the Tiangon which turned out to be very modern.
The astronauts seemed to be free in the room and each had adequate beds. In fact, there is also a fitness room so they can maintain their health.
When compared to the ISS, the design and facilities at Tiangong are much more modern. This is actually only natural because the ISS has been in space for a long time, to be precise, it was launched in 1998.
Since its launch, the ISS is only intended to operate for 30 years. This means that in 7 years the ISS will be retired. Even now, it has been seen that the ISS is an old school space station.
The astronauts' beds, for example, are smaller than Tiangong's. According to NASA astronaut Scott Kelly, astronauts can sleep anywhere and sometimes jostle.
The interior also looks a mess, with wires running all over the place, between the various computers and hardware. The ISS predicate as the coolest space station even seems to have been taken over by Tiangong, although functionally, the ISS could be more sophisticated.
