Clubhouse Users Can Now Record Chats

The audio-based chat app Clubhouse has launched a new feature that allows users to record, replay conversations and also download 30-second clips to share on social media or other sites.

This feature is called 'Replay' where the creator and moderator have a role whether the audio space can be recorded or not. Because, they can enable and disable these options. In addition, the audio room must be open to the public in order to be recorded.

The app will also launch an improved search function to help people find live and scheduled audio rooms, users and clubs that are oriented towards specific interests.

And finally, there's also spatial audio which is now available on Android devices. Previously, this feature was launched on iOS devices last August.

With this feature, users will have an audio listening experience that feels more alive and close, so that users feel as if they are in a live conversation.

These new features aim to help creators at Clubhouse expand their audience, as well as attempt to compete with bigger tech companies like Facebook and Twitter, which are also introducing similar apps, respectively.

"Right now it's too difficult for (creators) to thrive," said Paul Davison, co-creator and chief executive of Clubhouse.

"Whenever you help create a great moment or there is a great quote, you can share it more widely, apart from going through a link and telling people where to join the club."
