Imitating PES, FIFA Game Want to Change Name?

EA celebrated the launch of its newest FIFA game, FIFA 22, in a blog post. But in addition to celebrations, EA also sparked the idea to change the name of the popular soccer game.

"If we look ahead, we are starting to try the idea of changing the name of the EA Sports football game," wrote Cam Weber, General Manager of EA Sports Group.

"This means that we are starting to review our naming agreement with FIFA, which is separate from all official partnerships and licensing in the world of football," he added.

From this statement, it can be assumed that EA is exploring a FIFA name change because this is no longer a FIFA game. FIFA itself is an international football federation, which holds the World Cup, but this is not the only competition in FIFA games.

The post also explained that FIFA 22 has other leagues, such as the UEFA Champion League, UEFA Europa League, CONMEBOL Libertadores, Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, LaLiga, and so on.

EA also boasts that they have 300 partner licenses, which allows them to get access to 17,000 athletes, 700 teams, 100 stadiums, and 30 leagues around the world.

In addition, they claim to continue to improve cooperation and licenses that are more meaningful for players.

On the other hand, FIFA's competitor is a game made by Konami, which in its 30 years of existence has changed its name several times. Its most recent name is eFootball, which has received a lot of criticism for its poor quality.

Different from the previous generation of PES, eFootball 2022 comes in the form of free to play, aka free. The game is developed and published by Konami Digital Entertainment.

Although it has only been released since last September 29, the negative reviews are already scattered. Even eFootball 2022 topped Steam250's Hall of Shame list, which tracks the worst-reviewed games by percentage.
