Instagram announced that the Link Sticker feature is now available to all users. This feature allows users to share a link or URL in Stories using a sticker.
This feature has been tested since June, but is only limited to accounts that already have a blue tick or accounts with many followers. Since late August, the Link Stickers feature has officially replaced the 'Swipe Up' feature.
Both the Link Stickers and Swipe Up features were previously only available for verified accounts or those with a minimum of 10,000 followers, such as business accounts and creators who want to direct their followers to their sites or selling products, read articles, and so on.
Instagram says the ease of sharing links in Stories will really help all types of accounts, so they're extending this feature to all users who want to share links in Stories.
"We created this policy based on the feedback we've heard from the community about how beneficial it is for content creators and businesses of all sizes to grow like larger accounts," Instagram said in a statement. 2021).
How to share links on Instagram Stories using stickers is easy, namely:
Upload photo or video content to Instagram Stories.
Tap the sticker icon in the top navigation bar.
Tap the 'Link' sticker in the pop-up menu.
Enter the link or URL you want to share and then tap Done.
Place the sticker on your Story as desired, and tap on the sticker if you want to see a variety of colors.
Although this feature has been rolled out to all users, it does not mean that all Instagram users can access this feature. New accounts, accounts that frequently share misinformation and hate speech, and accounts that violate community guidelines will not be able to use the Link Sticker feature.
Instagram said the move was taken in an effort to limit harmful content on its platform. Previously, Instagram did say that the decision to share the Link Sticker feature with all users was taken very carefully because it could affect the security and integrity of the platform.
Unfortunately, until now Instagram has not allowed users to share links via posts in the Feed. That's why 'link in bio' services like Linktree are still the choice of many creators and businesses.
