It sucks, Google becomes the most searched word on Bing

Google claims that 'google' is the most searched word by Bing users.

This claim was made by lawyers for Alphabet - Google's parent - which is handling an antitrust lawsuit against them from the European Union. The argument that Alphabet uses against the lawsuit is that people prefer to use Google and not be forced to use Google -- which is considered a monopoly.

In the lawsuit, Google faces a $5 billion threat from the European Commission, which accuses Google of abusing power in the realm of Android smartphones.

According to the European Commission, Google should stop Android phone makers from installing Chrome as the default browser as well as Google Search. But according to Google, people will stick with their search engine eventually.

But Google did not claim origin. According to statistics released by SEO firm Ahrefs, 'google' is indeed the most searched word on Bing worldwide, followed by 'youtube,' 'facebook,' 'gmail,' and 'amazon.'

It should also be noted, the difference in the number of searches between 'google' and 'youtube' is very far, reaching 5 million searches. However, if the search is narrowed down, for example in the US, the most popular word is 'facebook', and 'Google' is in the 3rd position.

Uniquely, the words 'bing homepage quiz' and 'bing' are also in the top 10 searches, namely at number 5 and 7. This is because all Windows 10 devices make Microsoft Edge the default browser, and Bing is the default search engine in Edge.

Neither Google nor Microsoft issued any statement regarding this matter.
