Samsung will produce 20 million units of the Galaxy S22

Samsung is preparing to launch its newest smartphone, the Galaxy S22, which is planned to be launched in early 2022 with three models at once.

According to TheElec, the South Korean tech giant plans to produce 20 million units of its Galaxy S22 series.

However, about 50% or more of production and deliveries will be made for one model only. The version in question is the standard variant of the Galaxy S22.

This model will reportedly have a 6.1-inch screen that is smaller than the 6.2-inch on its predecessor, the Galaxy S21.

The standard variant will account for around 50% to 60% of the total number of Galaxy S22 series that will be shipped. Similar to the Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S22+ has also decreased its screen size by 0.1 inches with a screen size of 6.7 inches to 6.6 inches.

The Plus version will account for 20% of the total units of the entire series produced and shipped, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra will replace the remaining 20% to 30%.

Notably, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will still feature a similar 6.8-inch screen from the previous version, but will also feature a housing for the S Pen.

On the other hand, the production figure of 20 million units also marks a 33% decrease in production from the 30 million units produced for the Galaxy S21 series earlier this year.

With this figure, around 10 to 12 million units will only consist of the standard variant, while the Plus and Ultra will reach 4 to 6 million units each.
