The Game Awards, will be back for fans. They also announced the implementation date, which will air in December.
"Save the date, Thursday, December 9th. Broadcast live from Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles and broadcast live anywhere. Celebration of video game culture globally," wrote The Game Awards.
Not only featuring stunning AAA games, audiences can also watch live music and several premieres there. Microsoft Theater itself, has hosted the event since 2015 - 2019.
"We are excited to return to the Microsoft Theater for a special night celebrating the past, present, and future of video games," said Keighley, Founder and Executive Producer of The Game Awards 2021.
He said the purpose of holding this event was to unite the entire community, as well as to celebrate the most powerful form of entertainment in the world, namely gaming, and to introduce the industry's activists, who would emerge in the future.
Maybe this year will be a big one for The Game Awards 2021, especially looking back, where the event managed to bring together 83 million pairs of eyes online in 2020.
The number has continued to increase since 2016, namely 3.8 million, 11.5 million (2017), 26.2 million (2018), 45.2 million (2019) and 83 million in 2020. The numbers beat the Hollywood film awards show, namely Oscar.
The Game Awards itself began in 2014. Led by game industry leader, namely Geoff Keighley, this event collaborates with big names in game development and media, such as Nintendo and IGN.
