According to the Govindapura Police Station, India, a man from Bengaluru claimed to have received a text message on WhatsApp saying 'Good morning' from an unknown person for the past two years. In total he has received almost 20 messages.

On October 8 at 6:30 p.m. local time, the 50-year-old reportedly received the same message, but this time with the sender's location. Curious, he went to meet the messenger who was located in a hotel near Veeranapaya at 22.30.

How surprised the man was when he arrived at room number 212. He was greeted by three people in the room who claimed to be police officers and accused the man of being a drug dealer.

"They took my credit card, cellphone and wallet. Then they forced me to open the phone using my fingerprint. Then one of the perpetrators typed something on my cellphone," said the man as reported by the India Times.

After that, the three fake cops locked the man in a hotel room and left. Luckily he then managed to escape.

But when he got home he found his savings had been robbed. A total of USD7,000 was successfully transferred to the perpetrator's account.

The man then reported to the police. Based on information from the complainant, the police have arrested one suspect, while the other two are fugitives.

So be careful if you receive WhatsApp messages from people you don't know. Do not let his fate be the same as the man above.
