DJI Mavic 3 Landed on the market

After being introduced globally, the DJI Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine immediately landed on the market. If you are interested in drones that bring improvements from the previous series.

Both of DJI's newest drones carry a slimmer body than the 2018 Mavic 2, which makes it more aerodynamic. Not only that, the weight is also made lighter, the Mavic 3 weighs 895 grams and the Mavic 3 Cine 899 grams.

A 5,000 mAh battery is embedded in it. DJI claims the Mavic 3 can fly for up to 46 minutes, or 15 minutes more than the Mavic 2.

Not only a polished design, a major upgrade is given to the camera sector. DJI embeds the Hasselblad dual camera system on the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine.

The module used by Hasselblad L2D-2c. The main 20 MP camera carries a 4/3 CMOS sensor with a 24mm lens (f/2.8-11). The second camera above is 12 MP with a 1/2 inch CMOS sensor combined with a 162 mm telephoto lens, offering hybrid zoom capability of up to 28x.

DJI provides new Vision Detection Auto Focus technology offering fast focusing and multiple vision sensors that can capture distance data to optimize focusing speed. In addition there is the Hasselblad Natural Color Solution (HNCS) which offers natural color gradation and advanced flexibility in post-production.

Regarding recording capabilities, the Mavic 3 is capable of recording 5.1K at 50 fps and 4K at 120 fps. The same capabilities are also offered by the Mavic 3 Cine, only added support for coding Apple ProRes 422 HQ.

DJI delivers the Mavic 3 with 8GB of internal storage. While the Mavic 3 Cine has an internal SSD of 1 TB. Both are provided with a microSD slot with a capacity of up to 2 TB.

Especially for the Mavic3 Cine, the DJI Mavic 3 Cine is equipped with 10Gbps Lightspeed Data Cable support to speed up data transfers directly from the drone to the PC.

Other improvements provided by DJI include the Advanced Pilot Assistance Program (APAS) technology version 5.0. Combining six fish eye vision sensors and two wide angle sensors allows this drone to detect obstacles in all directions and create safe flight routes in complex environments.

There is also ActiveTrack 5.0 which is improved from before. This feature allows the drone to follow the subject as it moves forward, backward, left, right, and diagonally.

Both drone models are equipped with GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou satellite signal receiver systems. In addition, AirSense is provided to capture ADS-B signals from nearby aircraft or helicopters so that the drone can quickly fly to a safer location.
