Leaked form of Samsung Galaxy A53, Minus Headphone Jack

The Samsung Galaxy A53 is likely to launch next year. But the form of the successor to the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A52s 5G is starting to be revealed.

The leaked form of the Galaxy A53 comes from tipsters OnLeaks and Digit. At first glance, the shape of the phone in this rendering looks similar to the Galaxy A52 which launched earlier this year.

But upon closer inspection, some differences begin to appear. From the 3D rendering, it seems that the Galaxy A53 will not carry a 3.5mm headphone jack.

If these leaks are accurate, Samsung's decision to omit the Galaxy A53's headphone jack might disappoint some. This feature is slowly disappearing on premium phones, but it's still found in mid-range phones.

The Galaxy A53 will also be slightly thinner than its predecessor, with a thickness of 8.14 mm, or 9.73 mm if including the camera protrusion. For comparison, the thickness of the Galaxy A52 is 8.4 mm, as quoted from XDA Developers, Tuesday (9/11/2021).

On the back of the Galaxy A53 there are four rear cameras with the same setup as the previous generation. The design of the camera module is slightly protruding but made to blend with the back.

All four sides are surrounded by a metal frame. This rendering only shows the Galaxy A53 in black and white, but it is likely that Samsung will provide other color options.

Not much information is known about the specifications of the Galaxy A53. But it is likely that this phone will carry a screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 64 MP main camera.

In addition, the Galaxy A53 will likely only be available in a 5G option, without a 4G variant. Unlike the Galaxy A52 which comes in 4G and 5G variants.

It is not yet known when Samsung will launch the Galaxy A53. Given that the previous model was released in March 2021, it is likely that this phone will be announced in March or April 2022.
