Steam Deck Launch Postponed Until February 2022, Here's Why

The latest game console from Valve, the Steam Deck, has officially been postponed. It was planned to be released in December, then changed to February 2022.

"We apologize about this. We are doing our best to address the supply issue. But due to material shortages, we were unable to make it on time from the initial launch date," wrote Steam Deck on the official Steam website.

They also had to change the reservation date regarding this. So for fans who have pre-ordered, they have to wait two more months to be able to get the Steam Deck.

The scarcity of materials to make gaming devices is not only experienced by Valve's game devices. The same thing is also experienced by the next-gen made by Sony, namely the PlayStation 5. There is also a lack of supply of the Xbox Series X in the market.

Although the release was delayed, this handheld console, has been open for pre-orders since July 16th. By providing an upfront fee of USD 5 .

Then when the device is available, the developer will send a notification to gamers, who have made a reservation. Because it has been delayed by two months, potential users will be notified at the launch.

There are three models presented by Valve and have different prices. Players can buy it by paying an amount of USD 399 or (64GB), USD 529 (256GB) and USD 649 (512GB).

One of the advantages of using Steam Deck, gamers can also add external storage cards. So you can have more quality game titles.

A little additional information, gamers in the Asian region are more interested in this portable PC, compared to those made by Nintendo. Out of 10 countries, Steam Deck had three times the number of searches on Google last July.

Even so, can it compete with sales from the Nintendo Switch? Let's wait for his actions in 2022.
