The Oppo N Series Gossip Will Live Again, Become a Folding Screen Phone

Who still remembers Oppo N series? This line of phones with innovative camera designs was still in its infancy when it was shut down by Oppo in 2014, but it looks like this line will be revived as a foldable phone.

Oppo is indeed working on its first folding screen phone. According to a leak from the Digital Chat Station tipster, the folding screen phone will be named Oppo Find N 5G, as quoted from GSM Arena, Monday (11/29/2021).

In his post on Weibo, Digital Chat Station wrote a reference to the Oppo N and showed a photo of the Oppo N3 which was released in 2014. Interestingly, the Digital Chat Station uses a tag that indicates that the post was uploaded via 'Oppo Find N 5G'.

In his second post related to the Oppo Find N 5G, Digital Chat Station explains how this folding screen phone will use a 50 MP main camera to take selfies. It looks like the camera innovation from the Oppo N series will still live on this folding screen phone.

This post also mentions a folding screen phone with a small screen on the back that can be used to take selfies with the main camera. If this concept sounds familiar, it is because a similar design has been used by the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.

Oppo itself is reportedly developing two folding screen phones with the code Peacock and Butterfly. It is not yet known whether the Oppo Find N 5G is the same phone as one of these models or not.

Oppo's folding screen phone with the code Peacock is predicted to launch in mid-December 2021, and the Butterfly will be released in early 2022. Both will use Qualcomm's flagship chipset and carry a Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Huawei Mate X3-style design.
