Many Google Chrome users are moving to Microsoft Edge

A report reveals that currently many Google Chrome users are moving to Edge. This makes Microsoft's browser market share surpassed 4% for the first time last November.

According to Statcounter which released the report, Microsoft Edge is now the third most popular browser behind Safari and Chrome.

Still from the results of monitoring Statcounter, Chrome became the only browser that lost market share in the last month. Currently, its market share is 64.04%, down from 65.27%.

Although the Chorme market is starting to be eaten away by Edge, the gap between the two is still very far. And the recent migration of users to Edge will not shake Chrome as the king of the world's browsers.

It took a lot of time and effort for the Edge browser to shift that position. But it's undeniable that since the launch of the new Chromium-based Edge last year, the popularity of this browser has continued to increase.

But mostly because Microsoft is asking Windows users to use the latest browsers as they are discontinuing support for Edge Legacy and Internet Explorer.

Microsoft needs to find a way to get Firefox, Safari, and Chrome users to switch to its browser. The technology giant from Redmond has recently been seen aggressively pushing Edge to be used by many users, even though the way it irritates users.

For example they made it difficult to change the default browser in Windows 10 and Windows 11. The company has also rolled out a number of new features for Edge, from integration with Microsoft 365 to tools designed to help users save money on online purchases.

Evidently, Edge was able to overtake Firefox in July and now they are trying to reduce the dominance of Chrome. Although the process is slow, but Microsoft continues to strengthen its position with confidence.
