Geoff Keighley, Founder and Executive Producer of The Game Awards 2021, reveals the latest record for his game award event. Noted, the event managed to get 85 million live streams this year.
"We are grateful we can return to face-to-face ceremonies in 2021 and continue to build on our success with significant international growth in 2021," said Keighley.
Including another recent milestone, where a total of 1.6 million Tweets have graced the social media platform, Twitter, regarding the show. Then as many as 23.2 million gamers, participated in giving votes to the nominees in the various available categories.
In addition, The Game Awards 2021 was a huge success getting the biggest High Watch Time on Youtube to date. With total views reaching 1.75 million hours, up 14% compared to the previous year, quoted by Gamerant, Tuesday (21/12/2021).
The show massively touts digital broadcasts, which are broadcast on more than 30 platforms. Some of them are like Twitter, Facebook, Twitch, Youtube and Steam. They also managed to collect 3.35 million viewers, from all participating channels including co-streams on Twitch.
The Game Awards itself was held at the Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, United States. Featuring a variety of quality plays and performances from well-known musicians and music groups.
There are at least more than 25 categories that are presented, some such as Game of The Year, Best Game Direction, Best Action Game, Best Multiplayer, Content Creator of The Year, Best Esports Game, Best Esports Event and many more.
The nominations for the Game of The Year category themselves come from popular titles that have been enjoyed by gamers around the world. There's Deathloop (Arkane Studios/Bethesda), It Takes Two (Hazelight Studios/EA), Metroid Dream (Mercury Steam/Nintendo), Psychonauts 2 (Double Fine/Xbox Game Studios), Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (Insomniac Games/SIE ), Resident Evil: Village (Capcom).
The title of the best game in 2021 was also successfully won by It Takes Two. Where also received two other awards, namely Best Multiplayer Game and Best Family.
