WhatsApp Community Features Will Be Able To Merge 10 Groups Into One

Last month WhatsApp was rumored to be releasing a new feature called Community with this feature giving admins more power over groups.

Now the latest, WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature for Communities where admins can combine up to 10 groups into one community.

With Communities, Community admins will have more control than group admins and will be able to do things like decide who can message in a group and who can't.

Meanwhile, when a member is about to leave the Community, they will also not be able to see the linked group.

Reported by us from The Indian Express, Wednesday (12/29/2021) according to a report from WABetaInfo, this new feature will provide the Community with a group name and description.

The community will help better organization in the application, and will benefit larger groups that may require further sub-groups but still require a centralized control mechanism for all members.

This feature was recently seen in the beta version of WhatsApp on the iOS platform. As per the screenshot shared the Community will also show an "Announcements" group where admins can send messages to all members in various linked groups, similar to how broadcasts work but for community members.

This feature would also be ideal for remote work settings where large teams can now be split into groups but still connect through one community, or more if needed.

The Community feature is expected to roll out to WhatsApp beta users on iOS and Android soon, but it may take some time before it actually rolls out to all WhatsApp users.
