WhatsApp Group Admins Will Be Able To Delete Member Messages

WhatsApp provides many features for its group service that make it easier for group admins to control and manage groups to be better and more conducive.

Some of its features include the admin being able to limit the ability of members to send messages and even remove non-compliant group members. The latest is, WhatsApp group admins can later delete messages sent by group members.

Reported by us from Digital Trends, Tuesday (12/21/2021), according to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently working on this feature. Currently WhatsApp only allows original senders of messages who delete their messages.

The application also does not allow these messages to be deleted after a certain period of time from being sent even if it was done by the original sender.

The only option left for the sender is the "Delete for me" option. However, this only deletes the message from their phone, while other group members can see it.

As per the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, group admins will have the ability to delete messages sent by other group members.

The screenshot also shows text that says, "This has been removed by admin" which replaces the content of the original message.

This new WhatsApp feature is considered to be very useful considering the rise of chain messages containing hoaxes considering the many horrific incidents that have caused fatalities related to fake news in several countries.

It is hoped that the group admin can prevent this from happening with this feature. Unfortunately this feature has not been explained when it will be officially released considering it is still in the testing phase.
