Call of Duty Microsoft Will Immediately Remove from PlayStation?

Microsoft recently announced a deal to acquire gaming giant Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion. Activision has a variety of popular game lines, for example Call of Duty which is a hit on both Xbox and PlayStation made by Sony.

So, it's only natural that the question arises, will Call of Duty be withdrawn from the PlayStation platform? Microsoft as a competitor to Sony and the new owner of Activision could have made that decision.

Responding to the speculation, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer gave an explanation. He made sure that Call of Duty would still have a future on the Sony platform, aka it would not be revoked.

"I had a good conversation with Sony's leaders this week. I can confirm our intention to honor all existing agreements with the acquisition of Activision Blizzard and our desire to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation," he said.

"Sony is an important part of our industry and we value our relationship," he added.

The Call of Duty game series was first launched in 2013, with the first story set in World War II. But then the story became diverse, including carrying the Cold War, the future and space.

Activision's purchase itself is the largest acquisition in history for Microsoft, the technology giant based in Redmond, USA.

"Once the acquisition is complete, we will be offering as many Activision Blizzard games as possible on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, both new titles and games from Activision Blizzard's incredible catalog," said Microsoft Games CEO Phil Spencer.

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick himself will remain in office only until the deal closes, a person familiar with the deal said. Once the transaction is complete, Activision Blizzard's business will report to Phil Spancer.
