Fun! Android Games Can Be Played on Windows PCs

Last month Google announced it would be bringing Android games to Windows via the Google Play Games app. Now the application has entered the beta period and gamers can already play Android games on Windows devices.

Unfortunately, this beta trial is still limited in three countries namely Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan. Gamers in these three countries can already register to be on the waiting list, but only those who have received an invitation and their device meets the minimum specifications are allowed to participate in this beta program.

Google says Android games can later be played on Windows laptops and desktops. Gamers don't have to worry about losing progress because Google has guaranteed synchronization between devices, so game progress on mobile phones can be continued easily on PC.

"No more losing progress or achievements when switching devices; it only requires your Google Play Games profile," said Google Play Games Group Product Manager Arjun Dayal, as quoted by The Verge, Thursday (20/1/2022).

After getting an invitation and access to the Google Play Games application trial, testers can try popular Android games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Summoners War, State of Survival: The Joker Collaboration, and Three Kingdoms Tactic. In total, gamers can try more than 25 games in this trial.

Through the Google Play Games application for PC, gamers can browse the catalog of available games, then download and play their favorite mobile games on a bigger screen while using their keyboard and mouse. Gamers will also still get Play Points when playing games on PC.

The Google Play Games application is also a Windows native application developed by Google itself. It is also not a game streaming service, gamers have to download the game to play it.

Google's announcement comes a few months after Microsoft started testing Android apps on Windows 11 devices. To bring Android apps to Windows 11, Microsoft is partnering with Amazon and the Amazon Appstore.
