Asus has started rolling out the stable Android 12 update for the Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip. Interestingly, in the update, there are references related to the Zenfone 9 and the new ROG Phone 6 that will be launched.
The appearance of the Asus Zenfone 9 was first discovered by a member of the Asus ZenTalk The Raimstor forum. He uploaded a photo of the latest Android 12 update on Zenfone 8 which added a double-tap gesture on the back of the phone.
This feature is currently not accessible. But interestingly, on the page there is a sketch of a cellphone that indicates the Asus Zenfone 9.
It should be noted that this sketch is still very early and may not be the final design. This sketch can also be just a placeholder graphic.
The sketch itself shows a phone with two cameras on the back consisting of a 50 MP main camera and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera. The sides look to have a flat design, like the iPhone 13 which has a square design.
The same Android 12 update also contains a sketch of the Asus ROG Phone 6 gaming phone. The back design is still very gamer-centric with the 'ROG 06' logo in the middle, as quoted from XDA Developers, Sunday (9/1/2022).
The back seems to still carry the ROG Vision PMOLED display. The number of rear cameras is also more than the ROG Phone 5.
Not much information is known about the Asus Zenfone 9 and ROG Phone 6 at this time. Leaked specifications may only begin to be revealed ahead of its official launch.
