Watch out! WhatsApp Fraud New Mode Steal Bank Account Details

WhatsApp scams are constantly evolving, and now a new mode is back. Named Rediroff, the scam went viral on WhatsApp recently.

According to reports, fraudsters use this WhatsApp scam to steal personal data and rob victims of their finances. The data they stole were bank and card details. Spam links sent via fraudulent messages can also infect Windows PCs, as well as iOS and Android smartphones.

It is not known exactly when this fraud mode began to bloom. However, a report on CNBC said this scam killed a group of users who fell for the lure of Christmas and New Year's gifts during the holiday season.

According to the report, as quoted by News18, the fraudster sent a link to WhatsApp users and once the user clicked on the link, a website opened containing information that the user could win a prize by filling out a survey.

After users answer questions, they are directed to a website that asks to fill in some information such as name, age, address, bank information, and other personal data.

If the user fills in this detailed information, they fall into the trap of the scammer and nothing can be done to change it. These details can be misused to create fraudulent transactions or other illegal activities. The scammer can also install malicious applications on the user's device.

If you receive a message with a Rediroff.ru link in it, immediately report it as spam and delete it, don't let the link be clicked. Anyway don't!
