Google is no stranger to smart home products such as speakers to smart thermostats. So don't be surprised if Google also makes a smart lamp called dLight.
Ben Gold, the designer of the dLight lamp, shared the shape of the lamp through his Twitter account. The dLight, which is a bright white lamp, is an ultra-modern lamp that has a circular base and a thin pole that houses a cylindrical light.
The lights can be directed up and down which are designed in such a way as to provide better lighting for video conferencing.
Given that many Google employees are working from home during the pandemic, it makes sense that these lights are geared towards better working employees.
This light also displays the Google Assistant logo, so there may be voice command support on dLight devices. Not only that, dLight is also equipped with several lighting presets and the ability to change the light temperature.
For the record, this light was only devoted to Google employees. Even Gold said if this lamp will never be sold outside the Google company.
dLight itself is not Google's first product made specifically for employees. Earlier in 2017 Google developed a pair of Google-branded over-the-ear headphones for its employees.
