Reported from Euro News, Thursday (3/3/2022) GSMA as the organizer of the MWC 2022 event has canceled the Russian Pavillion. The GSMA also condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
"The GSMA follows the policies and sanctions of all governments. There will be no Russian Pavilion at MWC22. Event security continues to be reviewed and adjusted at the time this information is released," the GSMA said.
Reuters also reported that some Russian telcos were banned from attending MWC 2022 Barcelona. But it is not explained which company.
While the attitude of the GSMA is sympathetic to the casualties in Ukraine. “With incidents emerging and considering the tragic loss of life, MWCs are nothing compared to them,” the GSMA said.
The GSMA says MWC 2022 could be an event that brings together people who have a vision to unite the mobile ecosystem. "Connectivity can ensure that people, industries and communities will continue to grow rapidly," they said.
