Video ads on YouTube often appear in the middle of watching, this is often annoying, it should be normal because this service can be enjoyed for free.
Well, apparently there is an application called YouTube Vanced that can block ads on YouTube so no more ads appear. But unfortunately this application is already available.
Launching from Ubergizmo, Tuesday (15/3/2022) through his announcement on Twitter and Telegram accounts YouTube Vanced @YTVanced said that the application will be discontinued and the download link from their website will also be removed.
The reason for the YouTube Vanced application was not explained, but many suspect that Google threatened to take legal action.
No wonder because the service provided by YouTube Vanced is indeed illegal, even using the YouTube Vanced application allows users to watch videos without ads without having to subscribe to YouTube Premium.
Quoting from Android Police, YouTube has reportedly cracked down on illegal companies that provide unofficial services such as bots on Discord named Groovy and Rythm.
It is known that the Groovy and Rythm bots can play music from YouTube on Discord, this is also a violation of YouTube policies. Both bots were removed after YouTube sent a warning letter to developers asking them to stop their service.
It's likely that Google did the same to YouTube Vanced, even to avoid lawsuits from Google they once changed their name to just Vanced and also removed most mentions of YouTube on their website.
Apart from Vanced, many applications offer similar services by offering features found in YouTube Premium such as the NewPie application.
But YouTube Vanced has a huge user base. With this announcement, YouTube Vanced can still be downloaded with the latest version but in the future there will be no updates.
