The UK government from 18 March 2022 will remove all Covid-19 vaccination requirements and quarantine for travelers going to the country.
In the British Embassy's official Facebook account, the rules were imposed due to the high number of Covid-19 vaccinations in the country. In fact, the UK became one of the first countries in the world to abolish all arrival protocols during a pandemic.
"This move reflects the decisions taken by the UK government, as set out in the Living with Covid plan, and the successful launch of the UK vaccine and booster, with 86% of the total population having received a second dose and 67% of the population having a booster or third dose," it wrote. the official account was quoted Tuesday (15/3/2022).
Meanwhile, despite having a high vaccination rate, the UK is still haunted by Covid-19, especially the new Deltacron variant. Last week, the UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA) also said around 30 cases had been detected in the UK.
The UK itself is known to have relaxed the Covid-19 health protocol since the end of February. British Prime Minister (PM) Boris Johnson admitted that his country now had to start getting used to making peace with Covid-19.
