Tarawih


Tarawih is a sunnah prayer that is performed specifically during Ramadan. In Arabic, the word tarawih is the plural form of (tarwihatun) which means a moment to rest.

Iktikaf is a sunnah worship activity carried out by Muslims in the last 10 nights of Ramadan. This activity is filled with tadarus Al Quran to Qiyamul Lail evening prayers. One of the goals of this activity is to reach the night of Lailatul Qadar which has the virtue of worship that is better than 1,000 months.


Reporting from detik.com, in the hadith narrated by Ibn Umar, Anas, and Aisyah radhiyallahu 'anha said that, "The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam used to do iktikaf in the last 10 days of the month of Ramadan from the time he arrived in Medina until he died."

Allah SWT says about the implementation of iktikaf in mosques, which reads:



اِذْ لْنَا الْبَيْتَ ابَةً لِّلنَّاسِ اَمْنًاۗ اتَّخِذُوْا امِ اِبْرٰهٖمَ لًّىۗ اِلٰٓى اِبْرٰهٖمَ اِسْمٰعِيْلَ اَنْ ا لِلطَّاۤىِٕفِيْنَ الْعٰكِفِيْنَ الرُّكَّعِ السُّجُوْدِ


Meaning: "And (remember), when We made the house (Kaaba) a gathering place and a safe place for humans. And made Ibrahim's station a place of prayer. And We ordered Ibrahim and Ismail, "Clean my house for those who are tawaf, those who are in Itikaf, those who bow and those who prostrate!” (Al-Baqarah: 125).
